It's Nice To Meet You

If you want to simplify emergency preparedness, you're in the right place.

My Name Is Misty

I'm so glad you want to know a bit about me.  You should, if you are going to trust me to be your emergency preparedness tutor!

First, I am a Mom.  A real one, obviously: I can't even control my kids tongues in family pictures.  In fact, I’m the lucky mother of four beautiful, rambunctious children.  There is never a dull moment in our home and always a reason to laugh.  I am also wife to that handsome man over there.

I am a Mormon (a nickname for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and a firm believer in my Savior Jesus Christ.

I love cheese, hot baths, hiking and the spirit good music brings to my home.  I have a knack for organizing, and sometimes get a bit carried away with it to my husband’s dismay.

I struggle with anxiety, and wish I could nail down the habit of really studying the scriptures every day.  I hate shopping for clothes and I’m awful at decorating.  In fact, I may someday be open to hiring a personal decorator and / or clothes shopper. (Once I make my millions blogging)

I am not a “hard-core prepper.”   I don’t have a bunker anywhere.   I’m not a homesteader and I don’t make everything from scratch (just some things).  I can’t even sew! (though I should probably learn to do so).

But I do know a thing or two about emergency preparedness: I've been researching and working on it regularly since 2007.  And then there is that organizing talent.  I use it, combined with my e-prep experience to simplify emergency preparedness for you.

I'm great at "how to's" and "step by steps" and worksheets and checklists.  I love having my readers leave a post feeling like they have action items they can go accomplish right then.  I love the peace of mind that small consistent accomplishments bring and I want that for you!

How I Got Started:

As a mom, I get what it feels like to want to be prepared, but not know where to start.  It is overwhelming!

In late 2007, I was pregnant with twin boys when my husband and I both left good jobs and moved to California for him to start law school.  He couldn't work (not allowed that 1st year) and I didn't want to (so I could stay home with my boys).

I didn't have a clue about how to really provide for our family and be self-reliant.  I was scared that I wouldn't be able to take care of those adorable little boys in a tough situation.

So, I started studying up on emergency preparedness. I found a lot of info, and much of it was overwhelming.  I was scared, overloaded with information and unsure where to start.  But I started chipping away at it bit by bit.

And guess what?   I've learned that emergency preparedness doesn't have to be overwhelming or stressful if you take it just one step at a time.  That is the goal of this website: to provide simple step by step goals and systems anyone can succeed at.

I use my passion for e-prep, organization skills and years of experience to ave you time and money with e-prep. You won’t break the bank and you won’t overload your life with stress.  You will be better prepared to provide for you own and have more peace of mind!
